In the heart of the theater and entertainment district in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A., Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel offers 219 unique art-inspired guest rooms. The Saint Kate, named after Saint Catherine, the patron saint of artists, incorporates and celebrates the arts through the hotel, from instruments in the guest rooms to a museum in the lobby.

Kohler’s Artist Editions™ team worked with Saint Kate and its design partners to create two completely original handmade sink designs to put artistry on display in the hotel’s guest rooms. The Veil™ sink is decorated with a custom black-and-white ribbon design, created using a ceramic ink transfer onto the sink. It’s a unique piece of art unlike anything available elsewhere. Purist™ collection faucets and fixtures in Matte Black were the perfect addition, complementing the black-and-white custom sink.

The Kohler influence is also evident in the lobby. The lobby bar at Saint Kate features the Crackle™ collection, a line of artisan tiles handmade from manufacturing waste by the KOHLER WasteLAB™. The tiles are made from landfill-bound foundry dust, pottery cull and spilled enamel powder—all generated at the Kohler manufacturing facilities in Wisconsin. The Crackle collection allows specifiers and designers to select a sustainable product without compromising on beauty and design.
